Team Roping Action and local scenes from the USTRC in Laughlin, Nevada, November 15 & 16, 2001
I have over 100 more photos that to choose from - so some additional ones will be posted in a short while. The photos shown here are available in 8x10 and 11x14, matted, or custom sized to 30x40.

The weather was beautiful in Laughlin - a bit windy on the 15th but great on the 16th. With close to 2,000 teams expected to compete in the USRTC season finale, competitors were trying to win their share of more than $380,000 in cash and prizes.
Two arenas were used in the competition, and the action moved quickly and smoothly. An 5-head progressive format was used, where a roper, in any skill ability, has the opportunity to rope a maximum of 4 steers. But anywhere in that scenario, if there's a miss, the roper is out. There's no room for error. There were a lot of sad faces leaving town Friday morning, but a lot more still competing.
